that Red Cross audit report was mainly for the San Diego Chapter only...there are so many Great Red Cross Chapters that do wonderful work, run mostly by volunteers...it's too bad that the "sins" of a few have to give such a hugh black eye to all the other wonderful chapters around the country and the world.

The Red "Cross"
by Will Power inseeing the new logo for the red cross today, it dawned on me that the wt might not have such an aversion to blood as much as what they call a demonic symbol - the cross that represents the organization that eventually provided a blood service.
back in the old days of the wt, blood transfusions were not an issue, mostly because they weren't done.. their ridiculous stance on other organizations such as the ymca, salvation army, united nations, show that their aversion to the red cross must also include the symbol of the cross and judging by the mandates & phylosophy of the red cross below (from their web site), they might have seen them as competition!.
the distinctive red cross emblem, first used in 1864, symbolizes our neutrality and humanitarian mandate.

Dont blame the witnesses, its the Bible...
by sleepy indont blame the witnesses, its the bible's fault.. well you can blame them for trying to stick to the thing, but belief in the bible is the main problem.. i've heard the gb and witnesses be called evil by some, as though they have gone out to hurt people on purpose.. but i doubt that this is true, at least in recent times.. no the problem comes from believing the bible is god's word and trying to interpret it and follow it.. what happens when you do so?.
you get the catholic inquisition, people burnt at the stake, you get jews fighting for a promised land, religious groups who let their children die and a host of other problems.. i ask a question.if you were god and were going to have a book written on how man should live, would you do it in such a way that if misinterpeted or taken too literaly or mistranslated slightly , could result in the death and suffering of thousands of people, and would enslave people to false religious beliefs?.
yes there are good points and principles in the bible, mainly the words of jesus, who didn't write any of it himself.. but a few good principles don,t outweight the bad done in the name of the bible through the past 2000 years.. the society has tried to follow the bible, and take it for real .in doing so they have had to take on beliefs and ideas that can ultimatly cause harm.. it is like me reading a instruction manuel for my car, that is a fake written by a non-expert.if i follow that manuel , although it may not be all wrong, some instuctions could be in error and cause damage to my car and risk injury to other people.. if people then come along after and say "well its not the manuel thats wrong , you've just misunderstood it , look if you do it this way, that way..".

GWEEDO: your quote: "Well...I was just talking to God on the phone just now (As you do. He's pretty accessible these days). He told me he didn't write the book. Told me I should go read the Koran instead..."
Hate to break the news, but God called me to say that you were talking to a God impersonator named Mohammed.

Not a bad little hangout!
by Yadirf ini was looking at a magazine while waiting for my son to come out from seeing his doctor a couple of weeks ago, and it had an article in it about dick cheney.
(i think it was a magazine named architecture.
) it showed pictures of the home cheney is favored with living in during his tenure as vice president of the united states.

Actually this is a step down for Cheney...he's made millions in the private sector and lived in a better place than this.

Y R U AVOIDING THIS?
by puzzled ini was just reading moxy's post "biggest mathematical miracle in the world" .
and as i was reading all the logical reasons why it would have been impossible at least physically impossible, for that many israelites not to mention even one, to wonder through the desert 40 years and not leave a trace of their even having been there.. the only thing that seems to be more incredible then that is how many people on earth believe it.
regardless of weather it's true or not what is it that continues to inspire millions and billions of people to continue to believe?

SIXofNINE: Like I said, it was several years ago, but my conversations with him were very facinating since I love history. I will contact him and get the name of the museum. As I recall, he was going to go interview the guy for the show...I don't think he ever got the funding for the project, but I know he still has all the research as it took him several years to compile it. One other interesting thing, I remember him saying there were remanents of a viking like ship found in Mexico (or Central America)... and among the native people of that country, every once in a while a child will be born with anglo features and red hair...which their legends speak of foreign visitors centurys ago from the North who had red hair.

CARMEL: YOUR QUOTE: "Guess who taught the Muslims to be blood thirsty? That's right, the Crusuaders! Guess what religion they belong to? That's right! You got it!"
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR FACTS? THE MUSLIMS DURING THE 12 CENTURY DIDN'T HAVE TO BE TAUGHT BY THE CRUSADERS, THEY JUST FOLLOWED THEIR SCRIPTURES...YOU'RE EITHER MUSLIM OR AN INFIDEL, AN ENEMY OF ALLAH. IF YOU'RE AN INFIDEL, YOU ARE TO BE PUT UNDER SUBJEGATION (SLAVERY OR 2ND CLASS CITIZEN OR DEATH, IF YOU DON'T COOPERATE). THE CRUSADERS WEREN'T SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS, BUT THEY HAD A LOT TO LEARN FROM THE 12TH CENTURY MUSLIMS WITH REGARDS TO BEING BLOOD THIRSTY.

AMAZING: YOUR QUOTE: "This reminds me some of the Mormon claims that Jews traveled to the New World and became part of the culture here. reading the Book of Mormon reveals that the Jews who arrived here had a significant impact on the local indigensous peoples. Yet, there is no evidence of culture, language, tools, clothing, art, history, archeitecture, or anything among the North American tribes that one could make even a guess about Jewish influence here." ACTUALLY THIS IS NOT TRUE. THERE ARE PEOPLE, OTHER THAN MORMONS WHO BELIEVE SOME JEWS CAME TO THIS CONTINENT LONG BEFORE COLUMBUS....
Several years ago I was talking with a guy who was putting a script together called "They All Discovered American"...which was going to be a television cable show about the various people that came here before Columbus. Not only did they include the Vikings, but Chinese, Hebrews, Africans, etc. etc. When he was researching for the script he was talking to an Museum director in South Carolina. Several years before, they had found some ancient writing on some stone found in one of the famous Indian mounds that are found in the eastern and southern part of this country. At the time, the thought it was Cherokee and they hung it on display. One day a man was touring the museum and came to the spot with the display. They found him tilting his head as if to be reading the "stone" upside-down. It turns out that the man was an expert at ancient languages and he said that the stone was indeed upside-down and it wasn't Cherokee...it was of an an form of early Hebrew. This was only one thing of several that guy was going to include on his Hebrew section of the TV show.
